    The Council of IMO decided to grant NGO status to IAMU during its 98th meeting held from 25th through 29th June, 2007 in London.

  • IAMU LNG Roundtable:100 delegates representing industry, maritime administrations and education providers came together on 28th February and 1st March in Busan, Korea to discuss challenges facing the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) shipping sector. Organized by IAMU in conjunction with the Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators (SIGTTO), the Round Table focused on the competency standards and associated education and training needs to maintain and enhance the impressive safety record of LNG transport.   • CALL FOR PROJECT PROPOSALS: IAMU is pleased to announce a call for project proposals. Specific guidelines for submitting proposals can be found under the Project System page on this website. Deadline for receipt of proposals is February 14, 2005. In order to be considered for funding, proposals must address a major issue facing maritime education, training and/or safety on an international basis. Proposals that include the collaboration of two or more IAMU member institutions will be given special consideration. All proposals must be accompanied by a letter from the universities president/rector that states that the institution fully supports this research project (December 2004)
