IAMU News No.12, June 2006

Message from the Guest Editor

Welcome to the IAMU News special edition dedicated to "LNG Educational Training Course Curriculum". Unfortunately, due to two surgical operations I underwent last December, I was unable to do my job as Guest Editor in the meantime. At the end of February, 2006, when I was myself once more, I started corresponding with a number of universities. I noted that the response of the universities I contacted was not as I expected, which might be attributed to the fact that the most of them have not yet started LNG activities. However, I have received some contributions related to LNG which are being published in the issue No. 12.

On behalf of the Editorial board, I would like to record my thanks to all who contributed to the compilation of this article. It merits mentioning that starting from the last issue, these documents will be posted on the website of the IAMU, not only to cut down the costs of publications, but also to widen the scope of free accessibility to these articles.

The fact will always remain that the IAMU News special edition is an invaluable document for those interested in LNG industry.

Thanks are due to Dr. Bill Eisenhardt, Head of The Editorial Board, Dr. Gary A. Lombardo, Deputy Head, Dr. Hisashi Yamamoto, Secretary, and contact person, Ms. Shoko Yoshihara, for their efforts to issue this special edition.

It also merits mentioning the decision to establish "The International Natural Gas Institute" in AAST-MT by Dr. Gamal El Din Mokhtar, the President of the Academy, and Dr. Mohamed Ferghaly, his Executive Deputy.
